This is another painting based on a photograph by Steve McCurry, I loved the look on the guys face and the light reminds me of LA. The book of portraits is an encyclopaedia of facial form and a great source on inspiration. I had been painting clouds for awhile and was crying out for something different, it is times like these when it pays off to have a book like this. Over the weeks and months that followed I was able to come and go from this piece and I enjoyed every minute of it. There is just so much to learn from other peoples work.
